The Crossroads and College Square malls and shopping areas provide goods of all kinds, and the Cedar Valley Trails, numerous gyms and playing fields provide plenty of recreational opportunities. The University of Northern Iowa, Hawkeye Community College, Allen College and Kaplan University all have campuses in the area as well.

Most rental units that require the Tenant to maintain utility services will require hook up prior to moving in or at the very least within three days of taking possession so it is best to arrange utility service in the Tenant's name before moving to avoid an unexpected disconnect during the move!
Tenant that are low income may appy for Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program in the fall each year. The program is one of many services Operation Threshold provides for "education and services to help people meet their basic needs and become self-sufficient" including rent assistance, weatherization, WIC and family development. http://www.operationthreshold.org
Local TV. KWWL TV is the local TV station. KWWL will post weather related school closings during bad weather.
Newspaper. The local newspaper is the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier http://wcfcourier.com/
Local recreational services are provided by Waterloo Leisure Services. Waterloo has two public pools, many public golf courses. Public Ice Skating and a variety of youth sports programs.
